20 - 22 November
The Social innovation weekend was the inaugural event of the myanmar social innovation lab. Participants enjoyed an exciting weekend of networking, learning, brainstorming, mentorship, and competing for the best idea to help prevent flooding disasters in Myanmar.
during the weekend, participants formed teams and developed new, innovative ideas for preventing future flooding disasters in Myanmar--with a focus on ensuring that children are protected + safe during future crises.
At the end of the weekend, teams pitched their ideas to impress our panel of distinguished judges! A winning team was selected to receive follow-on mentorship through the social innovation lab to develop their idea into a viable product!
The Lab is an open, collaborative platform that brings academia, business, civil society, communities, and governments together to create sustainable solutions to the most pressing challenges facing children and youth. In this way, the Lab bridges a central Gap in the existing innovation ecosystem in Myanmar
The Lab model creates opportunities for young people, who have a unique insight into the challenges that affect their communities, to team up with local leaders to develop creative and sustainable solutions.
